This Veterans Day, Friday, November 11th, active duty and retired military members can enjoy events and specials throughout Jacksonville in appreciation of their service. Many companies participate in these promotions year after year to honor our service members.

Each year, the City of Jacksonville coordinates a Veterans Day Parade through downtown that includes more than 5,000 participants. Restaurants offer free and discounted meals to veterans. And local attractions offer free entry to military members and their families.

Things to Do

City of Jacksonville Veterans Day Parade – The City of Jacksonville Veterans Day Parade will kick off at EverBank Field on Friday, November 11th at 11:01am. The parade will include more than 5,000 participants including grand marshals, senior military officials, active-duty and retired military, veterans groups, local high school marching bands, decorative floats, giant balloons, JROTC units and more. For more information or to view the parade route, visit

Jacksonville Zoo & Gardens – Military members can enjoy FREE admission to the Jacksonville Zoo November 11th through 13th.

Castillo de San MarcosFREE admission to the fort for military on Friday, November 11th in honor of Veterans Day. The fort is open from 8:45am to 5:00pm.

Dogwood Park – Anyone with a military ID can enjoy the park for FREE on Veterans Day. Standard dog park rules apply – proof of rabies vaccine required and all male dogs over 8 months old must be neutered.

Florida State ParksFREE entry to any Florida State Park on Friday, November 11th. User fees for camping, canoe and kayak rentals and other services still apply.

Great Clips – Come in for a hair cut on Veterans Day and receive a FREE haircut card to give to a Veteran.

Salute to Heroes Concert at NAS Jax – There will be a FREE concert in the Dewey’s parking lot presented by NAS Jacksonville MWR on Friday, November 11th from 5pm – 10pm. While this event is not open to the public, all authorized patrons are welcome to bring guests. Doors will open at 5 pm and the first act will perform at 6 pm! There will be 3 country music acts: Steve Moakler, Clare Dunn and Old Dominion!

World Golf Hall of Fame – Military members and their families can enjoy FREE entry to the World Golf Hall of Fame from Monday, November 7th through Friday, November 11th.

Places to Eat

BJ’s Restaurant – All veterans and active duty military enjoy a FREE entree under $12.95  on Friday, November 11th.

California Pizza Kitchen – On Friday, November 11th, California Pizza Kitchen invites veterans and active military to enjoy a complimentary entrée from a special Veterans Day menu.

Chipotle – Enjoy BOGO burrito, bowls, salads, and tacos from 3pm to close on Friday, November 11th. Offer valid for US military, spouses, and veterans.

Cracker Barrel Old Country Store – This Veterans Day, Cracker Barrel Old Country Store will thank the men and women who have served our country by offering military veterans a complimentary slice of its Double Chocolate Fudge Coca-Cola Cake.

Hooters – On Friday, November 11th, all veterans can enjoy a free entrée from the Hooters Veterans Day Menu by presenting a military ID or proof of service at any Hooters location nationwide.

Krystal – The Krystal Company is celebrating Veteran’s Day with a complimentary Sausage Biscuit from 6 am till 11 am with military ID.

Publix – Military personnel, veterans, and their families are invited to save 10% on their grocery purchases on Friday, November 11th.

Tijuana Flats – Veterans and active duty military receive a FREE entree on Friday, November 11th.
