We recently had the opportunity to meet up with Jenn Guthrie, my favorite local photographer, to take some maternity shots at Julington-Durbin Creek Preserve. You may remember she took our engagement and wedding photos so it’s been a lot of fun to continue to work with her as our family grows. (Plus, she’s a magician with a camera!)
Since we love being outdoors hiking and mountain bike riding, we thought the location provided a perfect backdrop for our session. (We made a mental note to come back with our bikes in tow.) And the lighting was perfect! My eyes are super sensitive and I was so worried I’d end up squinty without my sunglasses but we timed the shoot just right and I was able to keep my eyes open the whole time.
I have literally gone over the 100 photos she sent me multiple times and cannot pick a favorite but here are few that definitely give me heart eyes. 😍
We also took The Bean Brothers so we could snap a few shots with them. For once, Lima stole the show with his expert posing and derp tongue that he just couldn’t seem to keep in his mouth.
And of course, Adam and I can’t be serious all the time so we ended up with a few photos like this. Love this funny husband of mine!
Huge (giant!) shout out to Jenn. If you’re looking for a local photographer, she does such good work and she’s a gem to work with. We already have her lined up for a newborn shoot and I can’t wait to see what kind of magic she works with little Squiggle.
Also, since people have commented, I picked up that floral dress (that was more like a tunic with my belly) for $9 at Ross. It’s non-maternity but super stretchy. I paired it with Blanqi maternity leggings (which have been a lifesaver!) and accessories that I’ve had in my wardrobe forever.
