Defining my personal style during this pregnancy has been a little bit of a challenge. For the most part, I’ve been able to wear a lot of my normal clothing. But now that I’m into my third trimester, I’m almost strictly stuck to wearing maternity clothing. Between not wanting to put a ton of money into a maternity wardrobe and frankly not finding a lot of options that I love, I’ve struggled to put together outfits that make me feel… well, normal.
Cato Fashions recently invited me to check out one of their local stores and pick up a few pieces of clothing. Cato doesn’t currently offer a maternity line so I wanted to find something that I’d be able to wear now and after baby gets here. Cato does offer an array of clothing options in both Misses and Plus sizes. And a lot of their options are geared more towards the workplace with business casual type styles.
I found quite a few options that I know I would enjoy if I wasn’t currently flaunting this big ol’ belly. Here are some of my favorite displays from the store.
I loved this sheer pink top accented with black accessories. This would be a perfect transition outfit from work to happy hour.
You can’t go wrong with a graphic tee and jeans. Paired with a statement necklace, these two outfit ideas were simple but still fun and put together.
And who doesn’t love a LBD paired with a jean jacket? Your choice of shoes could take this number from a casual day running errands to a dinner date with your sweetheart.
So, what did I end up buying for myself from Cato? After looking over all of my options and trying on a few different things, I opted for this striped nautical navy and white lightweight cardigan sweater and a gold and pink quartz necklace that I swiped off the clearance rack.
Since I wear a sweater almost daily to work (gotta love being a cold natured gal!), I thought this was a perfect piece to add to my wardrobe. The lightweight material means I can wear it year round. Plus it has pockets! The necklace was a fun addition to my jewelry collection. And for $4.99 I couldn’t leave it behind.
Now the fun part. Cato gave me a $25 gift card to give away to one of my readers. All you have to do is leave me a comment telling me your favorite type of clothing or accessories to collect. Do you love shoes? Me too. Do fun scarves always catch your eye? I’m such a sucker. Or do you have quite the collection of leather jackets? We should be BFFs.
If you don’t have a Cato Fashions near you, don’t worry. They have a full selection of clothing and accessories on their website ready for purchase. I’ll pick a winner next Wednesday, January 25th. Good luck!
