There are a ton of events going on around Jacksonville during October. Whether you’re looking to pamper yourself, enjoy a good meal, or share in some family friendly spooky activities, my events calendar has you covered.

Potterheads rejoice! Starting Thursday, October 13th all eight Harry Potter movies are coming to IMAX for one week only. Viewers will also get a special sneak peek of Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them coming to theaters November 18th. This will be the first time The Sorcerer’s Stoneand Chamber of Secrets has been shown in IMAX.

Join CrossRoad Church (my church!) for their annual Fall Festival on Friday, October 21st from 6pm to 9pm. Fun games, bounce houses and slides, live music, candy, hay rides, pumpkin patch, and everything is free except the concessions. Holiday Inn just rolled out a brand new food and beverage program. This Halloween, don’t miss Spooktacular at the Jacksonville Zoo October 14-16, 21-23, and 27-31 from 6:30pm to 10:00 pm. Jacksonville’s most enchanting celebration is a safe and exciting Halloween adventure for kids of all ages. Celebrate Spooktacular with Charlie Brown and the Great Pumpkin Patch, The Lands of Far Far Away, DJs spinning kid-friendly Halloween music, thousands of jack o’lanterns, candy stations, select animal exhibits, and much more! The Florida Theatre is proud to present the cult classic and Halloween favorite Rocky Horror Picture Show on Saturday, October 29th at 8:00 pm.

The 1975 musical is a tribute to the science fiction “B Movies” of the 40’s and 50’s. Its amazing cast included then young actors Tim Curry as mad scientist Dr. Frank N. Furter, Susan Sarandon and Barry Bostwick as our heroine and hero, Meat Loaf, Jonathan Adams, and Charles Gray.
