I never fully recapped our wedding. To be honest, once I reached the reception recap, I got a bit overwhelmed with how I was going to include all the details that made our day so wonderful and I just never got around to sorting through my thoughts. Adam and I have been married for over a year now so it seems a bit late to finish the wedding recap (plus, some of the details are a little fuzzy at this point).
But there’s one element of our wedding that was unique and definitely worth mentioning – the food at the reception was catered by a local food truck!
When Adam and I started discussing plans for our wedding, one thing we both instantly agreed on was the food. Our friends Rachel and Donny own and operate South In Your Mouth, a local food truck serving up delicious barbecue and Southern fare. We contacted Rachel right away and booked our date.
Rachel worked with me to create a menu that would appeal to all of our guests. South In Your Mouth is famous for their pulled pork so we made sure to include several pork options. We also chose a baked potato option and smoked chicken plate. Rachel surprised us by giving each of the dishes unique names catered to our event.
When it was time to serve food, guests walked up to the food truck window and ordered their dish which was prepared to their liking. Rachel and Donny were able to serve everyone at the reception in about 45 minutes. And every guest received a fresh hot heaping plate of food.
Of course I ordered my namesake. The Wiggle was a pulled pork sandwich piled high with creamy mac n’ cheese and served with a side of black beans and rice.
Adam created his own dish. A pile of crispy french fries topped with pulled pork and shredded cheese. Needless to say, our menu was not low-cal but it was definitely stick-to-your-ribs good.
South In Your Mouth food truck received two thumbs up from this bride and groom! Having a food truck cater our wedding not only took a lot of burden off us but gave our guests a fun, unique, and delicious dining experience.
To try South In Your Mouth food truck for yourself, head out to their home base at Browns Creek Fish Camp on Heckscher Drive. Follow their Facebook page for daily specials or book your own catered event.
PS. My friends over at jaxrestaurantreviews.com interviewed Rachel and got the whole scoop on South In Your Mouth.
