Where Wiggle Went

Two weeks ago, I announced that I’d launched an events calendar on this website. And I’m still really excited about this new feature. I have received some great feedback about my events calendar and I’ll continue to update the calendar as new events are announced. If you haven’t checked out the calendar yet, you totally should. And if you have an event you want to add, email me. (Ok, I’m done saying the words “event” and “calendar” in this post.)

This week I’m back to announce another new feature that I’m possibly even more excited about. I feel that this new feature is going to be helpful for readers who live in the area as well as those who might be traveling to the First Coast.

But first, a little back story.

I got the idea that I wanted to create an interactive map that geotagged my posts which would make it easy for readers to find things to eat, see, and do in the area. At the time of fruition, I had no idea how I would be able to pull off such a feature since my coding skills are very elementary.

As luck would have it, I found the exact feature I envisioned while visiting one of my favorite websites. I immediately scoured the Internet for a plugin and before I knew it, I was spending an entire day tweaking settings and loading information into my very own interactive map. (Why didn’t I think about a plugin? There’s literally plugins and apps for everything! #theresanappforthat)

Where Wiggle Went | Whether you’re planning a lengthly road trip or just a one-day excursion, this interactive map will help you decide what to eat, see, and do along the First Coast.

So, I’m excited to announce Where Wiggle Went, an interactive map of the First Coast full of first hand knowledge. With this map, you can sort entries by area or interest. Each tag includes the address and correlated information that I’ve written. Whether you’re planning a lengthly road trip or a one-day excursion, this interactive map will help you plan what to eat, see, and do along the First Coast.

You can see the entire map at erinwiggle.com/map. If you have a restaurant or point of interest in the area that you would like me to visit and review, get in touch.

  1. THIS IS SO COOL. I’d love to do something like this for my posts. Maybe we can text/email about how you did it? I could use some guidance…
