It’s a well known fact that in the South that Ranch dressing is the most popular condiment rivaled only (maybe) by ketchup. Down here, we put Ranch on just about everything – pizza, fries, various meats, vegetables, and of course salads. Needless to say, we know our Ranch and just about anyone you ask will have a favorite brand. Well, I have a new favorite brand of Ranch and it’s made by Litehouse Foods.

Last week, Litehouse Foods invited me to a special dinner at Moxie Kitchen + Cocktails where I got to sample their delicious dressings first hand. The major difference between Litehouse Foods dressings and other brands is that Litehouse dressings are preservative free. You won’t find them on the normal dressing shelf in the grocery store. You’ll find Litehouse Foods dressings in the refrigerated section because they’re made with fresh, quality ingredients.

To kick off the event, local dietician Jenna Braddock introduced us to her Roasted Carrot & Ranch Hummus recipe which was go-ooo-ood. As someone who is not a big fan of carrots, I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this dip. I liked it so much that I continued to eat it throughout the entire dinner.

And speaking of the dinner… Moxie Kitchen + Cocktails does not disappoint! We were treated to course after course of delicious foods.

During our dinner, we also had conversations about healthy eating, blogging, our favorite local restaurants, and other various chatter. This small event was a great way to get to know other local bloggers and I had such a great time. Big thanks to Litehouse Foods for putting on the dinner and Moxie Kitchen + Cocktails for the great food!

  1. Those cheddar biscuits LOOK SO FREAKING GOOD. It’s a big joke here in the Midwest that Midwesterners put ranch on everything, too, but honestly, I kind of hate it… I’ve just never gotten on the ranch train!
