Last week I mentioned that I once aspired to be a fashion blogger. I’ve shared some What I Wore type posts here, though the last one was in November 2014. In 2012, I tried my hand at fashion editorials for the blog I was writing at the time. I took most of the photos myself using my camera tripod and remote. I quickly realized how exhausting it is to constantly come up with ideas, photograph, and produce those types of posts.
I still obviously love fashion but I feel like there’s more substance to fashion than just styled photoshoots. Posts like this one with styling advice for getting the most of of your wardrobe are more up my alley these days. (Fun fact: that post is what landed me the opportunity to be a guest stylist for a local boutique event.) But I was browsing through that old blog and thought it would be fun to share some shots of “styled” shoots I’d put together.
I’ve shared more photos from this last shoot here.
Well, that was a fun little trip down memory lane! I can still remember where every item is from and I still have quite a few of them. For the most part I did a good job putting these outfits together but thankfully my photography skills have come a long way since these shots. Also, why doesn’t my hair look like this anymore? 2012 was definitely the year of good hair days.
