Can we talk about the weather for a second? Why is Mother Nature being so bi-polar? It was sunny and 75° here in Jacksonville yesterday. Today is forecasted to be another beautiful day… Friday is going to be mid-50s and rainy. And I have to stand outside all day for work. I can’t even.
I guess I shouldn’t complain because at least it isn’t snowing. (Right, almost everyone else in the US?) But I am definitely looking forward to warmer weather. So, when the folks at Dollar Tree offered to send me some goodies to decorate my home for Spring, I jumped at the opportunity.
You guys know by now I love to decorate my kitchen table for the seasons. (Remember my Gothic Glam Halloween tablescape? Also created out of mostly Dollar Tree items.) When I opened my box of goodies, I immediately wanted to create a bright and fun Spring tablescape. Working with the items they sent me and some pieces I had around the house, Spring has officially sprung in my kitchen!
I love the way the daylight floods my house in the morning and snapped these pictures as I waited for my morning coffee to brew. The bright colors and cheerful decorations are a great way to set the tone for the day.
We received these candlesticks as a wedding gift and I couldn’t wait to add display them. I filled the hollow tealight holder with Easter grass and wrapped these bendable flowers into napkin rings.
I’m having a hard time staying out of the candy. Blow Pops? Jelly beans? So much for that bridal diet! Someone come over and eat all this candy so I won’t!
I have to brag for a second on my (very-soon-to-be) husband. When I came home from the grocery store with these flowers, I put them in the vase and hated the way they looked. Floral arranging is not my gift. As I was whining about how terrible of a job I did, Adam took the vase over to the sink and completely rearranged the flowers into this beautiful display. I had no idea he was so talented with flowers! I added the pinwheels and the glitter eggs and voila! We had a professional looking floral arrangement made out of inexpensive grocery store flowers and dollar store embellishments.
If you’re interested in creating a Spring tablescape of your own, Dollar Tree is your one-stop shop for affordable seasonal decorations. Also, starting Monday, March 16th, these photos will serve as my entry into the Dollar Tree Happier Easter creation contest at ILeaveHappy.com where I’ll need your votes to win. One blogger will win a $500 VISA gift card and 10 lucky voters will win a $50 Dollar Tree gift card. So really it’s a win-win for everyone!
