Once upon a time, I had a dream of being a fashion blogger. I would set up my simple DSLR camera on a tripod with a remote and snap photos of my outfits in my front yard. Those days have since been filled with work, social obligations, family functions, and quality time.
The other day, while browsing through some old blogs, I came across these first fashion posts and I thought it would be fun to share some of them again. A little #ThrowbackThursday, if you will. I’m also hoping these photos will spark some inspiration and motivation to create more What I Wore posts. Mind you, these photos were taken in 2012 and while I still have some of the items, they’re long gone from store shelves.
I remember this look; it has always been one of my favorites. That dress was no where near warm enough for the weather (yes, it was actually chilly when I took these photos). But I love that little satin dress with the pockets. The color is perfection!
I used that “headshot” photo to apply for coaching from a quarterlife crisis blog. I didn’t make the cut but looking back, that’s probably a good thing. I was starting to get on the upswing of my QLC and finally figuring out where I wanted to go in life. While I firmly believe you can always learn from a little bit of coaching, I’ve always been one of those people who learns better the hard way.
Those shoes are my favorite heels to this day. (In fact, I added them in another color to my collection just the other day.) I wear them every chance I get (but not often enough) and keep them displayed on my bookshelf in my office. They’re way too beautiful to hide in my closet. Clothing is art too, you know.
I’m also really thinking about cutting my hair to this length again, maybe a tad longer. What do you think? I’m learning that the longer my hair gets, the stringier it gets and that my dreams of mermaid hair might be out of my reach. Danggit! But maybe once the cooler weather kicks in and I don’t have to fight with humidity as much, I’ll enjoy my long hair again. I’m also trying not to do anything too drastic before the wedding. Must. Fight. The. Urge. To. Dye. Hair. I miss my superhero red locks. Sigh.
