Okay, between the #TruthfulTuesday and Wedding post on Wednesday, I’m apologizing in advance for the continuous alliterations and word play. (I didn’t even PLAN the Wedding Wednesday thing, swearsies.) But with it being the end of the week, I thought I would wrap up with some of my favorite things.
// Adam and I went to happy hour on Tuesday night. The Fish Co., a local seafood restaurant, offers oysters for $6 AND $3 house wine on Tuesday nights. It’s turned into our new favorite weekly date night. (I’m hoping to have our rehearsal dinner there. Fingers crossed!)
// Kate wrote a really great post for xoJane about her most recent breakup and I loved every word of it. Apparently some people did not agree with my sentiments (ahem, rude comments!) but I thought she momentarily climbed into my head and described my breakup with a live-in boyfriend. Bravo, Kate, on writing such a great piece and putting yourself out there!
// I’ve become re-obsessed with magazines. (Yeah, that’s not a word but just go with it.) In younger years I had subscriptions to everything but I slowly quit reading them. This weekend I picked up InStyle, Marie Claire, and Good Housekeeping. On Monday I stopped by a thrift store on my way home and left with five magazines, a hardback book (The Help), and a tiny purple vase for a whopping $4.35. And TWO of the magazines were current issues. For $.50 a pop, I can chop them to bits for collaging and not feel bad!
// Is it Fall yet? I am ready for boots and leggings and sweaters and layers and cooler weather. Sigh. Buuut the good thing about changing season is sales! I bought a few things from Old Navy when they were having their extra 20% off sale the other day, including that cute HOLY CHIC shirt that I’ve seen on Instagram a bunch.
// Sons of Anarchy kicked off their seventh and final season on Tuesday night. I did not watch because I’m still waiting to get through S6. After waiting on Netflix to catch up, I decided to acquire the season by other means. So, needless to say Adam and I are going to binge watch S6 so we can watch S7 in real time. I accidentally read a spoiler about S6 and OMG, I cannot wait to catch up!
// The new Maroon 5 album V is making my life right now. Adam Levine does no wrong in my eyes. I went to their concert last year and it was amazing and I sang and danced in my chair like a total fan girl but I would do it all again in a heartbeat, please and amen. (PS The Voice starts on the 22nd and I can’t wait to have dates with Mr. Levine multiple nights per week.)
// And speaking of concerts, Garth Brooks announced three dates in Jacksonville for October. SIGN. ME. UP. When the rumor spread about a possible upcoming Garth tour, I was so giddy. He has been my favorite since the 90s and I can’t wait to (hopefully) see him live.
What are your favorites from this week? Have a great weekend, friends!
