Dear H&M Skinny Low Jeans, I love you.

Y‘all, I can’t believe I’m about to write an entire post about my obsession with a particular pair of pants but believe it, because here it is.

About two years ago, I visited an H&M for the first time while on trip to Tampa. I picked up a striped shirt with a GIANT screen printed pink leopard print bow and a pair of $10 black jeggings. The shirt met it’s demise thanks to a series of pin holes but the pants have become a closet staple. So much so, that I’ve purchased two additional pairs since then and retired a pair that was stretched out and faded. Same pants, same price of $10.

For a while, I couldn’t find the pants when I looked for them and I thought my favorite pants were gone forever. I even looked for them while visiting Utah with no luck. *Insert sadface here.*

On a trip to the mall this past weekend, I found the pants again. And in my size! I scooped up two pairs and now I’m regretting that I didn’t pick up a couple more. (Note to self: make another trip to the mall soon and snag a few more pairs.)

The cashier laughed at my obsession with the pants and probably thought I was weird for buying two pairs. But when you love something, you buy it in multiples (and/or every color). The way I look at it, some people have multiple pairs of jeans in the same style. Why can’t I have a closet full of black jeggings?

I wear these pants with practically everything. As someone who wears (and loves) a lot of black, they’re perfect for almost any outfit. They can be dressed up or down. And they’re the perfect fit – tight and stretchy – like wearing leggings with pockets and belt loops. I wear them on the motorcycle, I wear them to work, I’ve fished in them, heck I’ve probably even slept in them at some point. Maybe.

To refrain from sounding like a Dr. Seuss book (I would wear them in a box with a fox wearing socks), I owe a lot of my outfits to these cheap and comfortable pants. I really like them, Sam-I-Am.

I just discovered that the jeans are available online – Skinny Low Jeans $9.95. (Thank you magical Google!) And I also just discovered that they’re available in multiple colors. *Frantically orders multiple pairs.* I will note that they’re incredibly stiff until you wear and wash them a few times, but after that they fit like a glove.

Do you have a favorite piece in your closet? Share with me in the comments!

  1. Hi I’m looking to order 2 pairs right now. I was wondering, although this post is all the way from last year, could you help me with sizing please? I’ve did my research, read reviews viewed so many sizing charts and im scared with H AND M only, my sizing will be different. I wonder are they true to size? In forever 21 jeans and any other jeans i wear, im a 30. But on the HandM website it seams different and confusing. And unfortunately, i never really go instore shopping. Please help.

    1. Hi, Vanessa! I would say that these jeans run small. They’re also really tight, more like leggings then jeans, so if you’re worried, I would size up. Also, they’re pretty long. I’m 5’4″ but it doesn’t bother me because I just roll them under if I need to. I hope this helps! 🙂
