When you’re on a tight budget, you need to get the most out of what you have. I challenged myself to see how many different ways I could wear a little black dress, a necessity in every girl’s wardrobe. By swapping out accessories, adding a jacket, or picking a different pair of shoes, I was able to easily come up with six different looks.
I picked the dress up at Ross for $8. (Seriously!) It’s a very simple, very comfortable form fitting dress. I was apprehensive to try it on but you know when you put something on and it just feels like it belongs? Yeah, that. But it wasn’t until I got the dress home that I realized exactly how many different ways it could easily be styled.
Here are six different ways to style this LBD.
STATEMENT NECKLACE & PRINTED SHOES
The easiest way to jazz up this LBD is to pair it with a statement necklace and bold pair of shoes. There are endless combinations to go along with this idea but I love how the red bubble necklace pairs with these leopard pumps and how this silver and stone Italian statement necklace (thanks, Nana!) works with these bold floral wedges.
I sort of went out on a limb here by wearing this flowy peacock printed top over the dress but thanks to the cinched waist of the top, it gives the dress the illusion of a skirt. Accessorize with a gold necklace and pair of black heels, you’re set for the office.
The white blazer works perfectly to bring in another of my favorite prints – zebra! Paired with a few zebra accessories like printed flats and skinny belt, this look is appropriate for the workplace but can also be easily worn to Happy Hour.
JACKET & BOOTS
Up until quite recently, I was one of those never mix black and brown kind of girls but now it’s quickly become one of my favorite combinations. The jean jacket and brown accessories make this LBD a little more casual and perfect for Fall.
Motorcycle trends are really in this year so pairing this LBD with a couple of edgy pieces is a must. A faux leather jacket and knee length motorcycle boots gives the illusion that you just jumped off your Harley.
I hope these ideas help you to see your wardrobe in a new light. These suggestions are perfect for those that need to get the most out of their purchases but hate repeating outfits. If you do a post similar to this or challenge yourself to create different looks with a closet staple, I’d love to see what you come up with.
